Third grade curriculum for Math and Language Arts follows the Common Core State Standards. The students will be challenged and encouraged to a higher level of critical thinking.
Students will explore a variety of writing pieces such as persuasive, descriptive, and personal narratives. Students will also develop strong skills for reading comprehension through reading several genres. Grammar, vocabulary, phonics, and public speaking will also be taught and practiced as well. Research based learning assignments will also be introduced and learned through a variety of assignments and projects.
Students will discover multiplication, division, fraction, and much more. The facts will be reviewed and practiced to develop a stronger foundation for future use. Students will engage in solving word problems and critical thinking skills through a variety of hands-on group work and use of manipulatives.
